What if Peter kept walking on the water?

So I’m wondering what would’ve happened if Peter had kept his eyes on Jesus when he was walking on the water. I guess he would’ve kept walking. Maybe he could’ve run around for a whole day and then did it again the next day. Why not?

I get the sense that living this kind of supernatural infused existence is not something special just for Peter and the apostles. Jesus seems hungry to do this for everyone.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth [try to picture him searching], to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭16:9‬a. That’s kind of a big statement.

For most of us, Jesus doing the unthinkable — if we keep our eyes on him — won’t mean walking on water, although it certainly could. For some, that will mean he puts forgiveness in our hearts for someone who doesn’t deserve it. Others of us are up against some immovable problem and we’ve given up hope of it ever changing. “Well THAT’S never gonna change!“ we say. But he’s going to do it anyways.

Don’t give up hope. If we take our eyes off Jesus and we sink, we should try again a thousands times if need be. Peter might have walked on the sea another day and he just didn’t write it down. He certainly did the impossible in the Book of Acts.
